On Wednesday, September 6, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) officially announced the release of additional tickets to address the high demand for the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023.

After BCCI held discussions hosting state associations, approximately 400,000 additional tickets for the tournament are set to be made available. The general sale of tickets for all matches will commence on 8 September (Friday), 8 PM.

“The BCCI deeply acknowledges that fans are the heartbeat of the tournament, and their unwavering passion, engagement, and contributions are pivotal to the success of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023,” the statement said.

The ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup begins on 5 October with the epic rematch of the 2019 final between England and New Zealand.

Hosts India will start their campaign against five-time World Champions Australia on 8 October in Chennai. Almost a week later, they clash against arch-rival Pakistan in Ahmedabad on 14 October.

The all-important Final will be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium on 19 November.

Before the start of the World Cup, all the teams will also play two warm-up games each. Guwahati, Thiruvananthapuram and Hyderabad will play host to all the warm-up matches, starting 29 September.

With less than a month to go now, squads are rolling in, with India and Australia being the latest to unveil their 15-member teams. Teams have until 28 September to submit their final squad, after which all changes will require the approval of ICC.
